the party last night
The party last night was dope. It was Lono's birthday party, so he had a bunch of folks come through. But even before that, early, the place was jumping. I don't know who was there, new folks, but they were chilling at the bar, drinking, and dancing. The place blew up by 11:30. I couldn't believe the tracks I was playing at 11:48, 12:12, 1:02...I could hardly believe the energy in the place got that high so quickly. I actually felt like I had to catch up to the crowd.
Today I had to stay home from work. As some of you know, I'm nursing a torn meniscus (cartilage) in my left knee. I had to miss two Deep Sees in a row, then last week was there about 2.5 hours, and this week, I got there around 10:30 and left just before 4 and by the time the night was over, I could barely walk. Literally. I felt so awkward moving so slowly in the club, where people stand so close together and there's so much activity around me. I felt like I had to be extra-careful, walking like if I were made of porcelain. I was amazed at how difficult walking had become by the end of the night. I am having artroscopic surgery on Thursday January 20 and I can't wait to be back to normal.
Anyway, we recorded two mini-discs worth of music from last night. I'm ripping it now and hopefully we'll have it out in some fashion for folks to check out. It was pretty hot last night, and we're just getting warmed up for Cielo on Friday.

How did you do with your arthroscopic surgery? How long did it take before you felt safe walking and how was the pain from the surgery?
